WHAT WE TEACH

Fundamentals

We emphasize the fundamentals and believe the fundamentals of basketball are the MOST important thing to master. Teams that win championships work on the fundamentals from day one, and even some of the best college and NBA basketball coaches in the world spend the majority of their practices on fundamentals. Consistently working on shooting, lay ups, foot work, post play, passing, jump shots, pivoting, boxing out, fast breaks and more make you and your team better; no matter the age level.

Sportsmanship

Great athletes are cool under pressure and never allow themselves to be mentally or emotionally taken out of the game. They may briefly get angry at a call, but almost immediately they are refocused on what they need to do to be ready for the next play. The ability to solve problems, show discipline and never lose composure shows dignity in adversity.

Leadership

It’s what separates the winners from the losers. The ability to be an effective leader will dictate not only individual success, but the success of the team as well. Understanding that doing what’s in the best interest of the team must always come first is the work ethic and attitude of a true leader. This attitude becomes contagious to the team.

Team Concept

Being a part of a team means learning how to help one another. It is always exciting to be the star of the team, but when team members help one another realize their true potential it creates an environment that allows everyone to go beyond his or her limitations. Team players exhibit adaptability and are service minded. These are qualities that will be carried through life.

Keys to consistency:

1.Focus and Aim.
2.Start low and jump as high as you can.
3.Snap your wrist and keep your fingers wide.
4.Hold your follow through until the ball hits the floor.
5.If you shoot short, use more legs.
